This isn’t a Recession October 30, 2010

Perhaps the following examples are emblematic of our present precarious situation.  The Progressive Congressional leadership apparently believes Steven Colbert is not only what they perceive as a conservative commentator they also believe his outrageous satirical views are worthy of a Congressional hearing.  Not to be outdone by the pedantic puffery of his lockstep legislative sidekicks, our President, like millions of his devotees, apparently perceives John Stewart as a serious news broadcaster.  Together these two politically motivated comedians are what the left believes constitutes an effective counter-weight to Glenn Beck and his chalkboards.

After the dust settles, after the confetti is swept up and all the balloons have popped what will the transformed American political landscape look like?  Who will be leading and where?  Will the recently awakened millions who’ve campaigned to get their country back have anything to show for all their efforts?  Or, will the entrenched GOP establishment reach across the aisle proving all they were really interested in was co-opting the Tea Party Movement to regain their power so they could continue their side of the slide into the shabby future of a Progressive Social Democracy?

Hopefully the Loyal Opposition will realize this election was not a place holder.  This was not merely a warm-up for the opportunity to send Mr. Obama back to Chicago.  This tea-nami will send people to Congress who need to know this is their chance to work for the reversal of the Progressive agenda.  If instead they misinterpret it as a two-year lease with an option they will soon hear the cry, “We can see 2012 from here!”

Then again this whole election cycle may be President Obama’s version of rope-a-dope.  His erratic pronouncements and lack of any message except variations of his car-in-the-ditch illustration make it seem as if he wants the Republicans to win control of the House and pick off some old mass-backs in the Senate.  That way like the new boss who cleans out the old team, he’ll be free of Nancy and Harry and for the next two years he can bounce against the ropes, play the Comeback Kid, and let the Senate absorb the force of the punches.  Then in 2012 he can blame the Republicans for the mess he has created while saying the answer to the failure of Plan A is Plan A again.

Niccolo Machiavelli once said, “No enterprise is more likely to succeed than one concealed from the enemy until it is ripe for execution.”  Now look at the situation the 112th Congress is going to face.  Without total veto-proof control of both houses the ship of state will continue to speed towards the glacier of unsustainability while the wide-eyed reformers rearrange the deck chairs.  Or as Sun Tzu said, “He who is prudent and lies in wait for an enemy who is not, will be victorious.”

The unemployment rate in September 2010 stood at an abysmal 9.6% and that only includes people receiving unemployment benefits.  If everyone is counted, those whose benefits have run out and the underemployed who work part time but want to work full time the real unemployment rate is closer to 16.7% and some analysts peg it as high as 22%.   Then there are the 99ers, those who have exhausted their 99 weeks of unemployment benefits.  With the help of the AFL-CIO and the SEIU they are unionizing online hoping to use the power of collective action to legislate longer benefits.

One in eight Americans, are now enrolled for food stamps.  This is the highest share of the U.S. population ever receiving food stamps, which is another first for the Obama Administration’s economic recovery program.  The stigma caused by using the old funny colored monopoly money has been replaced with an anonymous looking debit card linked to someone else’s account.  Looking forward, the research of professional anti-hunger lobbying groups shows that one in three eligible people are not receiving the benefits they deserve.  If this is correct, soon half of America may have the opportunity to subsidize the other half.  This will be a major blow to the pro-hunger lobby.

The Census Bureau reports over14% of the population were below the poverty line in 2009, compared with 13.2% in the previous year and 11.3% in 2000.  The number has increased three years in a row with no decline in sight as the trillions spent in the President’s recovery plan just keep on giving.

The national debt has increased by 5 trillion since Nancy Pelosi became the Speaker of the House and promised no new deficit spending.  Since President Obama’s inauguration the debt has increased by 3 trillion.  And according to the administration projections the National Debt will increase by approximately $6.5 trillion during President Obama’s first term which is greater than the unacceptable increases of Bushes two terms.

Apologizing for our past, pillaging our present, mortgaging our future, kowtowing to China, imitating Europe our first post-exceptionalism President rejects our greatness as illegitimate and seeks to manage America’s decline.  This isn’t a recession this is the new normal.  The Progressive Evolutionaries are systematically destroying our economy in order to produce the Lumpenproletariat their cherished theory of life, the universe, and everything predicted Capitalism would produce.  Now that the name of Communism has changed to State Capitalism maybe it will.

A Sign For The Next Tea Party April 19, 2010

Just like it isn’t bragging when you can really do it and it isn’t paranoia when they’re really out to get you the bluster of an undefeated champion is often well founded. For years when Mohammed Ali said, “I’m the greatest” he was right. For years when Iron Mike Tyson said, “Nobody can beat me” he was right. However, there comes a time when Rocky II turns into Rocky III. There comes a time when the Champ is no longer facing the Bum of the Month Club he’s facing Clubber Lang. There comes a time when all the bluster becomes braggadocio. When the hollow taunting of opponents no longer intimidates it merely enrages. President Obama’s recent condescending and insulting mockery of the Tea Party Movement has blended with that of his political soul-mates. The red flag waving on the ramparts of the Progressive juggernaut has become a red cape in front of a raging bull.
Last week I attended the Tea Party in downtown Richmond. Compared to the first one last year it was much larger and better organized. I sat on a hill like a bird on a branch and watched my fellow citizens peacefully express their opinions concerning the rapid descent of America into the stunted future Progressives call a level playing field. The various signs told the story: “Stop Subsidizing Stupidity,” “Failures Love Socialism,” “When Injustice Becomes Law Resistance Becomes Duty,” “I am NOT Your ATM,” and my personal favorite, “Obamacare = More IRS Agents Less Doctors.”
And what’s the reaction of our leader? He’s amused by the TEA Parties. He thinks they should be thanking him for all the tax cuts he’s passed. He thinks they should be grateful he’s ended the recession and healed the economy. He’s using the bully pulpit to bully those who disagree with him. The most powerful man in the world thinks the voices of our enemies should be heard and the voices of American citizens silenced. He’s ready to meet with the rabidly anti-American president of Iran without pre-conditions, but he won’t do the same with the leaders of his domestic opposition.
As if the ridicule of the President and the distortions of the geriatric media, isn’t enough America’s perpetrator-in-chief, the only former president to ever lose his license to practice law in order to avoid prosecution continues the obvious game plan of setting the Tea Party Movement up to take the fall for any future act of domestic terrorism. Of course our current leadership refuses to call our enemies terrorists. To them there is no war against terrorism. There are no Islamic Extremists. To them the only threat of terrorism appears to be the peaceful assembly of American citizens petitioning for the redress of grievances.
Millions of hardworking American citizens sacrifice their time and invest their efforts in an attempt to get a message through to Washington. Although too long to fit on a poster its short enough be heard. The plan to radically transform the United States into a European style social welfare state is not going down easy, and no matter how many thousand page bills filled with surprises get crammed down our throats we will not drink the kool-aid.
The handwriting is on the wall. The ruling party is headed for a fall reminiscent of a famous tower in Babylon or a statue in Bagdad. Unless Acorn registers the voters and Mayor Daley counts the votes the Obama-Pelosi-Reid triumvirate is fated to lose the current lock they have on power. The constantly growing ranks of the Tea Party Movement appear at the moment to have the sophistication and political acumen to avoid splitting the patriotic opposition by forming a third party. The two party fix has long had a structural strangle-hold on power. Any attempt at this juncture to supplant the Republicans in that hierarchy would only facilitate the minority victory of what has become apparent to all as a small cadre of dedicated evolutionaries determined to fundamentally transform America.
As I sat on my perch watching the swirling crowd of concerned citizens, as I read the signs, listened to the speeches and spoke to those around me I noticed that one word was missing. This one word aptly describes the destination of all this fundamental change. This one word sums up the goal of every thousand page bill filled with new agencies, enforcement provisions and economic take-overs. This one word should galvanize resistance and focus the emotional and intellectual energies of all those committed to the limited government which secures our heritage. That one word is totalitarianism.
Inimical to the America bequeathed by our ancestors and toxic to the liberty and opportunity which has made the United States the greatest nation to have ever existed totalitarianism is the enemy of humanity and of the rights our Creator endowed. Seeking to control every action, direct every effort and determine every outcome, totalitarianism is the inevitable result of a cradle-to-grave welfare state. A sign for the next Tea Party might be, “Freedom was our cradle – Don’t let socialism be our grave.”

Wanted Community Organizers No Experience Needed January 11, 2010

Talk about a man-caused disaster have you looked at the recovery lately? The Republicans under the Bush dynasty and the Clinton interlewd paved the way for the current debacle of fiscal debauchery. The only thing growing is the government. Have the Liberals staged a second revolution? Khrushchev predicted the Soviet Union would bury us and since they’re now on the trash heap of history is the Liberal Politburo of leftwing academics, corrupt politicians and their lamestream propaganda machine digging the grave instead?
The Obama administration’s takeover of America’s health care system, the financial industry, the biggest player in the insurance industry, major manufacturing the coming Cap-N-Trade boondoggle, and the soon-to-be-launched drive for import-a-voter immigration reform is a direct assault upon the productive designed to hobble their economic power and limit their personal freedom. The statists know the economically prosperous and individually free people of America stand in the way of their plans to create a centrally-planned economy and the regimented society it requires.
The Cloward-Piven Strategy for overwhelming the American constitutional system of limited government was formulated in the game-changing 60s. The leading tactician of the left, Saul Alinsky embraced and promoted this strategy. President Obama taught Alinsky’s principles at the University of Chicago and recently Christ Matthews in one of his softball interviews with a fellow liberal hailed Alinsky as one of “our” heroes. Applying Alinsky’s methods the cabal of liberal community organizers, corrupt politicians, unions and thinly veiled criminal organizations such as ACORN labor to bring our system to its knees. America is staggering under runaway spending while the Fed turns the dollar into monopoly money. The TARP rip-off has turned into an inexhaustible slush fund of crony capitalist corruption, the stimulus bill isn’t stimulating and the uncertainty of future governmental action discourages anyone from investing anything anywhere. Why would anyone want to overwhelm the system? So they can re-boot the system in their own image.
The contempt the party in power has for the American people and the process of a free people seems to know no bounds. Our president believes the Constitution is a flawed document because it doesn’t deal with the re-distribution of wealth. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi thinks it’s a joke when asked where in the Constitution she finds the authority for her actions. Henry Waxman a leading Democrat Congressman mocked people who dared ask that their representatives read the bank-busting game-changing bills they are passing in the middle of the night, saying unless you have two lawyers and two days you can’t understand them anyway. In his contempt for the American people Waxman even went so far as to hire a speed reader to read a bill in Congress to the laughter of his colleagues. Harry Reid the majority leader of the party that invented Jim Crow Laws and separate but equal the party of Bull Connor has the nerve to compare anyone resisting his attempt to nationalize the greatest medical system in the world with those who opposed the end of slavery. As the country sinks into the economic chaos their spending and regulatory strangulation cause they’ll cast themselves as the framers of a new vision, a new re-made America.
While its Democrats currently shoving collectivism down America’s throat. Remember McCain advocates health care reform, cap-n-trade, and immigration reform. The two major parties are two heads of the same bird of prey an oligarchy of power elites with its foot on the throat of America’s traditional meritocracy. The Republicrats are both run by Progressives dedicated to the transformation of America.
If these agents of change succeed in destroying the economy and neutering the Constitution what will protect the freedom and opportunity of America? How do we save the Constitution, re-institute capitalism and stop our slide into the incentive-killing swamp of collectivism? We need to organize. Use the social networks to communicate and connect. Support local patriot groups. It’s critical that we remain peaceful but it’s just as critical that we use our constitutional rights of assembly and petition to gather our strength and present our case for the traditional American system of limited government, individual freedom and economic opportunity.
Providentially at this fateful juncture we have an articulate spokesman with a national megaphone. Glenn Beck broadcasts every day on hundreds of radio stations and on the Fox News Channel. He launched the 9-12 Project providing a virtual gathering place for all Americans who seek the unity of 9-12-01. Of course Rush Limbaugh is the founding father of conservative talk and always a guiding light and the most respected political commentator and theoretician. Others such as Coulter, Hannity, Ingrahm, Dobbs and Savage are inspiring and educational. The Tea Party Movement is morphing into hundreds of local variants. Get Out of Our House (GOOOH) is building a grass-roots base for political activism. Sara Palin provides some political visibility for the average American. Yet it’s Beck leading the way. If you aren’t watching his daily television program you’re missing some of the best researched and in-depth investigative reporting ever presented. Tune in. Turn on. And throw the bums out!

What To Do Now That It’sBeen Done December 28, 2009

You can’t beat good political drama. The Nuremberg rallies with all those glistening uniforms and snappy torch light marches. The May Day Parades with the Soviet gerontocracy standing on Lenin’s tomb smiling at the grandchildren of the people they tortured riding on their shiny tanks and missile launchers. Even little North Korea stages some pretty impressive mass birthday parties for the Glorious Midget. We may disagree with everything these totalitarian nightmare regimes stand for. We may abhor their gangster tactics and hellish fantasies about conquering the world but you have to give them credit for knowing how to wow the crowd. They know how to stage a scene and then walk on as the Luke Skywalker of megalomania, wave to the great unwashed return to their castle of doom and continue living life large like Dr. No or in Kim Jong-II’ s case Mini-Me.
The Denver acceptance speech with its Styrofoam Acropolis gave us a hint of the political theater to come. The Victory speech to the teaming masses in Grant Park let us know the curtain was rising. Like the Perils of Pauline in a serial of sequels the suspense continues in the never-ending crisis. We must have health care and we must have it now! We’re so far in debt we need to spend a massive amount quickly or we’ll go bankrupt. This is an emergency there’s no time to read the bill hurry up and vote. We need this now even though it won’t be implemented until after the next presidential election. Hurry up vote!!!
There’s nail-biting suspense and edge-of-the-seat excitement as the plot thickens. What will it cost to buy Mary Landrieu’s vote? How much does Ben Nelson want for Nebraska’s vote? Ram it through no matter what the people want. Our lawyer-infested government knows better. Besides, who are we to question the only honest politician to emerge from the swamp of Chicago political corruption? Want to wake up with a horse’s head in our bed? Just pay the big and shut up they obviously know what’s best they’ve got 60 votes.
What a scene. The courageous iron-willed Nobel-prize-laureate makes his adorable little girls wait for Christmas while Daddy bludgeons a compliant Congress to pass anything they can call heath care reform so the Cavalcade of Czars can fill in the blanks later.
Every move they’ve taken since the November Revolution has been to seize control of the economy and society. Following the insurance, banking, and auto coups the health care take-over delivers another 1/6 of the economy into their clutches. Swiftly following will be Cap-n-Trade either by legislation or EPA mandate, Import-a-Voter-Immigration-Reform and watch for the regime to begin acting as if whatever that was the Boss agreed to in Copenhagen is a ratified treaty committing America to the UN administered shake-down carbon tax to help prop up statists around the world.
The plan is to push through so many changes and to commit us to such enormous debt there will be no way back to the America we’ve known. They’re also planning on maintaining their power in perpetuity through Acorn voter registration, manipulation of the census and import-a-voter immigration reform. Echoing the question I hear every day as I travel around the country, the question I receive every day in emails from concerned Americans from sea to shining sea, “What can we do?”
They organized their way into power and we need to organize their way out. We laughed when someone had the audacity to list Community Organizer as their profession on a presidential résumé. Now we know that wasn’t a joke. We couldn’t believe it when someone from the most corrupt political machine in America was presented as hope for change. But the Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media pulled it off. Then after the Republican statists and their casino capitalist pals abandoned free market principles to save the free market it was anti-climatic when a majority of American voters elected a one party regime with unstoppable majorities.
We must organize. We must remain peaceful but we must organize. The Tea Party movement blazed the way. Now a new organization, GOOOH, or Get Out of Our House is growing on the American political horizon with the intention of vetting and backing candidates across the political spectrum. Others such as the Tea Party Patriots and the Tea Party Express are springing up bringing like-minded Americans together for education, encouragement and inspiration. Using the Internet and the exploding social networks these innovative groups are leading the way.
Believers in free enterprise, personal liberty and individual freedom are coalescing to out-organize the organizers. Constitutionally limited government will return to Washington for we shall not go silently into that long dark night. The arrogant career politicians, their media fellow travelers and the entrenched technocrat bureaucracy may think they’ve won the final round. They may think the America we’ve known and loved is down for the count but in reality all they’ve done is awaken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve. Don’t despair. Keep the faith. We shall overcome.
