The key to understanding the universe,
is to realize:
it was created by a personal God
and not the unconscious action
of an impersonal force.
Because God created the universe
outside Himself
it’s not just an extension of His essence.
There is a real reality,
true history,
cause and effect,
and individuals
who can effectively respond to him.
Trying to find a universal meaning
in our own heads
is like walking in circles
in a house of mirrors
and thinking.
“I’m really going somewhere.”

In “That’s Your Job” S5 / E6 of I Took a Right Turn: The Podcast starts off talking about the challenges we all face as we follow God. And of course, one of our homegrown songs: There’s a Reason. Opening to II Peter 3:8-12 we listen as God speaks through the Apostle and lays out exactly what we are to do as servants of Christ. Robert reads another poem “The Key” from his Second book of Poetry, Floating Through Time. Each episode this season includes a poem from this book.

When I was young
my father told me,
“Seek wisdom, get an education,
and make something of your life.”
But I refused to listen,
instead I went my own way.
Years later
when I finally heard what he said,
I followed his advice,
and found that he’d tried to steer me
away from many mistakes
false starts and dark paths
I made and toward a goal,
that ultimately
led me to
live a life
that satisfies me.

In “Cheating on God” S5 / E5 of I Took a Right Turn: Robert and Rosalie start of talking about how important it is to listen to God, To wait to hear from Him and then wait for the right time to do what He says. Timing, as is often said, is everything. Next, they sing a medley well-known songs: He is Lord, This is the Day, How Great is Our God, and Amazing Grace. This is followed by one of our homegrown songs: I Was a Dreamer. Opening to James 4:4-6we see that our God is a jealous God and He wants our complete attention as well as our obedience. Robert then reads the poem “If I Knew Then What I Know Now” from his Second book of Poetry, Floating Through Time. Each episode this season includes a poem from this book.
