Don’t Carry That Weight May 6, 2026

If we put God first

everything else

will fall in line.

When we kneel before God

He stands up for us,

and when He

stands up for us,

no one and nothing

can stand against us.

Stand in faith and watch,

“Why is this happening,”

turn into,

“Thank you, God.”

Prayer

is the best weapon,

to win unseen battles.

Worry is a weight,

that those with faith

never need to bear.

God hasn’t

lost a battle yet.

In “Nothing Can Separate Us” S5 / E54 of I Took a Right Turn: After we share about the weather we open up speaking about how we learn from God’s Word how to stand through the trials and temptations of life.  Our musical portion of the podcast begins with Victory in Jesus which is an old song and a constant hope here.  Next a song that tells us that no matter what we need to carry on with Jesus, Keep on Keeping On.  Then another old song from the sawdust trail of old-time tent revivals that gives us a great tool for encouraging ourselves in the Lord when facing the storms of life, Hallelujah Anyhow.  Finally, we share one of our classic homegrown songs: Do You Ever Wonder

Looking into God’s holy Word, we explore at Romans 8:31-39 a passage that teaches us that no matter what happens in life God is right there for us and that we never need to worry about whatever tries to get in our way.

After this, we move on to our newest segment of the Podcast, “A Miracle Moment.”  In the segment this week, we share a story from our days of ministry in the desert.  Send us your miracle story and we’ll share it on the podcast to encourage others.  Just go to our webpage itookarightturn.com, click on the contact button and let us know how God moved in your life.  Include your contact information and we’ll send you an autographed copy of one of Robert’s books, free of charge.

Then Robert reads another poem from his second book of poetry, Floating Through Time, “Don’t Carry That Weight.”  Each episode this season includes a poem from this book.

The text of the readings from Robert’s book is posted the day after the release of each episode at www.itookarighturn.com All of Robert’s more than forty books are available in paperback, Kindle, and Audible through Amazon. We also invite everyone to visit our online art store, The Pair a Docs Shop where we offer our original paintings, prints and merchandise.

God may lead us where we don’t want to go to produce in us what we could never achieve on our own.

Grapes must be crushed to make wine.  Diamonds form while under pressure.  Olives are pressed to produce oil.  Seeds sprout in the darkness.  When we’re under stress, attacked, and hemmed in we’re in a place where powerful changes can take place.  Trust God and make it through.

The Past is Past April 29, 2026

The woman at the well

was divorced five times,

and Jesus still used her.

We shouldn’t allow ourselves,

to be limited

by people who dismiss us

because we took

a complicated path to God.

In my past

I made many mistakes,

but Jesus

dropped the charges.

We need to stop,

re-living

all the mistakes we’ve made,

if Jesus forgives us

shouldn’t we

forgive ourselves?

May people

remember us,

in their prayers

as vividly and as often

as they do

in their gossip.
