Why Read the Bible May 14, 2025

Reading the Bible

is not a contentless existential experience,

calling us to an anti-intellectual

leap-of-faith.

It’s a logical presentation,

revealing the reality of creation.

The reality exposed in the Bible,

creation by a personal God,

the fall of man,

salvation through divine intervention,

and new birth through faith

is the only thing,

that answers the questions of life,

and explains the observable evidence.

In “Don’t Give Up” S5  E3 of I Took a Right Turn:Robert and Rosalie open the Podcast with comments about life in general.  Besides on-going health issues, she is currently battling a severe cold.  Then we play a few fun songs: He Set Me Free, Keep On Keeping On, and I Went to The Enemy’s Camp.  These are followed by another of our homegrown songs: Come On People.  This week we open the Bible to II Corinthians 4 and learn that God not only tells us not to give up He also promises great rewards for those who don’t.  Next Robert reads the poem “Why Read the Bible” from his Second book of Poetry, Floating Through Time.  Each episode this season includes a reading from this book.

The text of these readings are posted the day after the release of each episode at www.itookarighturn.com  All of Robert’s forty books are available in paper back and kindle through Amazon.  We also invite everyone to visit our online art store, The Pair a Docs Shop where we offer our original paintings, prints and merchandise.

There’s a Reason May 7, 2025

Life,

it can seem so long.

Do right,

and don’t do wrong.

Cause nothing,

brings it back once it is gone.

Have you ever,

lived your life so hard,

that winning,

wasn’t in the cards,

and everything you had

sorta slipped away?

There’s a reason for our breathing.

Gods got something for us to do,

He could have left us instead He blessed us,

now He’s waiting on me and you.

To tell the story of His glory

how He saved us and brought us through.

It’s not our fitness it’s our witness,

that’s the job we’re supposed to do.

I want to give,

all I have to give,

for this life that I live

is nothing, but a gift from God.

I want to do,

all I’m called to do,

And be,

all I’m called to be,

and see,

if it makes a difference

in this land.

There’s a reason for our breathing.

Gods got something for us to do,

He could have left us instead He blessed us,

now He’s waiting on me and you.

To tell the story of His glory

how He saved us and brought us through.

It’s not our fitness it’s our witness,

that’s the job we’re supposed to do.

Making a show of our prayers never gets a good review from God.
