In “Use Freedom Well” S5 / E59 of I Took a Right Turn: Once we finish our usual comments on the weather in the Promised Land and move on to speaking about the freedom we have in the Lord and how we need to use that freedom to honor, serve, and glorify Him. We ask for prayers and remind people they can send their prayer requests to us. Our musical portion of the podcast begins with a song that sometimes stays in my head for days afterwards, an old song that has blessed generations of believers and led multitudes to Christ, I Saw the Light. Next another of our favorite songs from the old tent revival days, Jesus Got aholda My Heart. Then comes a song that tells the truth and nothing but the truth, There is None Like You. Finally, we share another of our homegrown songs, one that speaks of where our gaze should be directed: Keep Your Eye One the Prize.
Looking into God’s Holy Word we turn to Galatians 6:23-23 and consider the freedom we have in Christ and how that freedom should be used.
After this, we move on to our newest segment of the Podcast, “A Miracle Moment.” This week, we share another miracle from before Robert was saved, commenting on how God can preserve us until our personal day of redemption no matter how many crazy things we do.
We want to invite everyone to send us your miracle stories. Everyone who does will receive one of Robert’s books. We’re very excited about this new segment because we feel God has guided us into this expansion of the Podcast Ministry. Just go to itookarightturn.com and click on “Contact” and use the message system to submit.
Then Robert reads another poem from his second book of poetry, Floating Through Time, “We Get What We Choose.” Each episode this season includes a poem from this book.
The text of the readings from Robert’s book is posted the day after the release of each episode at www.itookarighturn.com All of Robert’s more than forty books are available in paperback, Kindle, and Audible through Amazon. We also invite everyone to visit our online art store, The Pair a Docs Shop where we offer our original paintings, prints and merchandise.

When we’re living in sin the devil won’t attack us, it’s when we try to quit sinning that he strikes.

That Was Enough June 17, 2026

If we’ll let Him,
God turns:
messes
into messages,
tests
into testimonies,
and
trials
into triumph.
Job never knew.
why he suffered,
but he saw God,
and
that was enough.

In “I Have Decided” S5 / E58 of I Took a Right Turn: We open up with our usual comments on the weather in the Promised Land and move on to reflecting on how we all need to develop patience for without it we will never keep our faith on the line long enough to reap a harvest. We ask for prayers for Rosalie’s continued recovery. She had surgery last Friday and now we are waiting for complete and total healing. We also remind people they can send their prayer requests to us through our website. The musical portion of this podcast begins with a song that often stays in my head for days on end. Some days I wake up singing it and then plays in my conscious all day. It’s not that old of a song by Bill and Gloria Gaither, a song that has blessed multitudes of believers and led multitudes to Christ, Because He Lives. Then comes an old song that speaks about how we should live our life in Christ if we want to experience His power, it’s an old song from the tent revival days, I’m Going on With My Jesus Just the Same.Next is a song by Amy Grant, I Have Decided. Finally, we share another of our homegrown songs, one that speaks of the fact that God is still active in the world and in our lives: The Voice.
Looking into God’s Holy Word we turn to Job 42:1-6 and look at how Job reacted to his affli8ctions and how God showed Him who was really in charge. We look at its implications for us today and ask everyone to consider how this relates to their own life.

If we teach our children to pray, they will turn to God instead of to the world when life appears to overwhelm them.
