I Smell Some Rats March 27, 2017

After the election the stock market took off like a rocket.  Job creation zoomed toward the stratosphere.  Today as the chameleon Progressive RINOs crawl out from under the sheep’s clothing they use to disguise themselves in every election.  As they follow their leaders John McCain and Lindsey Graham in attacking President Trump and doing everything they can to thwart his agenda the markets are beginning to stumble.

In this column I have noted for a long time that if we want the economy to shake off the shackles of the collectivist chains it isn’t rocket science.  Cut through the Gordian Knot of regulations which strangle business and lower the punishing tax rates that steal the fruit of producers flushing it down the Washington money hole.  Have you ever wondered why we see signs that say share the wealth but we never see signs that say share the work?  In any society that taxes Peter to pay Paul eventually everyone changes their name to Paul.

One of the maxims of economics is if you want more of something subsidize it.  If you want less tax it.  Look at the policies of the Progressives since 1989.  They’ve turned a safety net into a hammock so is it any wonder we have so many with the free time to be professional protestors demanding more?

Now that the Ryan led House has been prevented from pushing Obamacare Lite down our throats.  The Donald says he wants tax reform.  As a matter of fact he now regrets that he didn’t work on tax reform first.  How long will it take for McCain and Company to oppose that?  Business people are beginning to see all the rats have not left the ship even though it is drowning in twenty trillion dollars of debt.

The debt ceiling will be raised.  The lead from behind diplomacy of the Apologize-in-Chief left potential wars looming on the horizon in Korea and Syria.   Either one could blossom overnight into major sinkholes for the Trump Administration.

Once, no twice America voted for the smoke and mirrors of hope and change.  Now we have voted for drain the swamp and build the wall.  In the first case we reaped the whirlwind of retreat and defeat.  And with the cheer leading of McCain, Graham, and others reaching across the aisle to maintain the strings of the Lilliputians the American Gulliver can’t seem to break free.

Calling for special prosecutors to inventigate the mythical links between President Trump and Russian spies, evidently hiding under every bush, the push for impeachment hearings will roll through the halls Congress as sure as liberals love taxes and regulations.

I am beginning to think we should carve the faces of McCain, Graham, Schumer and Franken on the sides of Mount Trashmore.   A fitting tribute to those who labor long and hard to impose upon us their vision of America as just one more state in a New World Order run by the nameless faceless bureaucrats infesting 760 United Nations Plaza.

Defund the UN?  I say throw them out and let The Donald turn the whole thing into condominiums.  And who knows, after their impeachment debacle fails maybe the voters will wake up and throw the bums out along with their globalist bathwater.

When Patrick Henry was elected to attend the Constitutional Convention he famously said no.  When asked why he wouldn’t attend he answered, “I smelt a rat.”    What did he mean?  What did the man who said, “Give me liberty or give me death,” see coming in the wake of revolution?  Look at the best Congress money can buy and you will see what the smell was all about.
