In a political world trained to the wretched rhythm of the perpetually re-elected and their focus-grouped nuances never meant to clarify as much as cover their rear-guard the penetrating pronouncements of President Trump are like a breath of fresh air in a partially sealed coffin.
On the one hand we have a trimmer like Big Bill Clinton of New York’s Sixth Crime Family. When confronted about his perjury he had the chutzpah to look directly into the camera and say, “It depends upon what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” The most definitive, declarative thing he ever said to us was, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
This is emblematic of what we have been conditioned to expect, the lowest common denominator of plausible deniability wrapped up in the quivering forthrightness of a lie labeled as the truth.
On the other hand we have The Donald. Standing in the belly of the beast, surrounded by the political hacks who have been hacking us up he had the courage to say, “For too long, a small group in our nation’s Capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost.” Looking into the camera he did not hedge and equivocate like the ex-lawyer Bill Clinton. He did not try to lead us off on a fool’s errand to build democracy around the world in countries who don’t want it like George the Second. He did not wax on for hours using the word I more than anything else like the self-absorbed narcissist BHO.
No, Mr. Trump not only called a spade a spade he tossed the whole deck in the air for a political version of fifty-two pick-up when he continued, “Washington flourished — but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered — but the jobs left, and the factories closed.”
After years of hearing nothing but the cha-ching of politicians making fortunes as public servants. After decades of wondering what happened to the Reagan Revolution as Progressives from both sides of the twin headed bird of prey that makes up the Government Party finally we heard from the Country Party when our President Trump said, “The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.”
And now after the first week of an actual working president he also nailed the media’s hide to the wall. Not only were working people who believe in America First cheering we were giving him a standing O when he said, “I think the media is the opposition party in many ways.” How long have we thought that? They are no longer a watch dog. They became the Democrat’s attack dog long ago. For a perfect example of their biased presentation of the gatekeepers compare the recent so-called “Woman’s March” and the March for Life.
The Woman’s March got wall-to-wall coverage the week before it was scheduled no doubt ginning up attendance. This led to wall-to-wall coverage by an army of reporters and cameras while it was going on followed by a week of glowing reviews and video highlights. Now reflect on the March for Life. This massive event has filled the streets of Washington every year since the abomination of Roe v. Wade in a vacuum. There is the partisan bias of the Corporations Once Known as the Mainstream Media in stark relief.
The Democrat Party is in disarray. Hillary may be contemplating a talk show to make hers the face of the opposition to America First. The Ego from Chicago may be planning on moving into his Washington mansion and popping out at propitious times to voice the collectivist reaction to America First. And we always have Pocahontas in the wings ready to do a war dance, a rain dance, or just shout old soviet slogans against America First. And of course the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party or as they are also known, the media will be right there to supply the sights and sounds and film at six against America First.
Luckily we have someone who is ready to stand up and voice the heart-felt cry of so many who believe in America First. Our President Trump seized the moment and captured the spirit of the age when surrounded by the thieves who came in the night to steal the American dream he said:
That all changes — starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you.
It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America. This is your day. This is your celebration. And this, the United States of America, is your country.
What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people. January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.
Everyone is listening to you now.
At that moment and in many others since he has captured lightening in a bottle, said exactly what we have been waiting to hear, and hit it right out of the park.
Can I get an Amen?
